About Edge Computing and Vapor Edge
Vapor IO is a leader in Edge Computing
, which refers to the next generation of cloud, where cloud resources (compute, storage, networking) are placed at the edge of the network—such as on building rooftops and cellular base stations—in order to service nearby devices and applications with higher performance and reduced latency.
In November 2016, Vapor IO launched Vapor Edge
, the world’s most cost-effective end-to-end platform for edge computing. Vapor Edge helps cloud operators, telcos, real estate holding companies and other innovative enterprises build and operate a next generation edge cloud to support low latency applications, such as IoT, autonomous driving and virtual reality. By helping these companies place cloud capabilities at the edge of the network, Vapor Edge substantially speeds up interactions, removing latency and reducing network and compute load back to centralized data centers. Vapor Edge is available today for customers planning deployments in 2017.
