Company adds industry veterans, CMO, CFO and general counsel, to support next phase of growth

AUSTIN, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Vapor IO, the next generation platform for hybrid and edge clouds, today announced the addition of three new members to its executive leadership team. To help drive continued growth, the company has appointed Matt Trifiro as chief marketing officer, David Gino as chief financial officer and Catherine Bedell as general counsel and secretary. These latest additions will support the next phase of the company’s expansion, driven by its focus on edge computing. “The inevitable future of cloud is edge computing, and it will be driven by the demands of 5G based services, AR/VR, IoT, and autonomous vehicles,” said Cole Crawford, founder and CEO of Vapor IO. “By adding Matt, David and Catherine to our executive leadership team, we are leveraging the experience of executives who have helped companies like Salesforce, DuPont Photomasks and Rackspace grow and scale. This puts us in great shape to capture the unprecedented demand for new low-latency applications and sets us up for long-term business success. The combined extensive experience of our senior management team in this field is unrivaled.”

Matt Trifiro, chief marketing officer

Trifiro joins Vapor IO to lead the company’s global marketing, branding and communications. He was also a co-founder and CEO of e-commerce startup 1000 Markets (sold to Bonanza) and co-founder and vice president of marketing for interactive television pioneer Wink Communications (NASDAQ IPO). David Gino, chief financial officer

Gino joins Vapor IO to drive and oversee financial growth as the company begins deploying its Vapor Edge platform in the US and Europe. He brings a wealth of experience in international operations, strategic partnering and all forms of financing. He has helped take two companies public and has completed numerous private equity, development and licensing agreements which provided critical growth funding to his former employers. Prior to joining Vapor IO, Gino was the COO/CFO at Molecular Imprints where he played a key role in leading the company through a series of transactions, including the sale of its semiconductor business to Canon and subsequent sale of its non-semiconductor business to Magic Leap. Prior to joining Rackspace, Bedell supported both large enterprise organizations and emerging growth businesses as an attorney in the law firm of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati.

About Edge Computing and Vapor Edge

Vapor IO is a leader in Edge Computing, which refers to the next generation of cloud, where cloud resources (compute, storage, networking) are placed at the edge of the network—such as on building rooftops and cellular base stations—in order to service nearby devices and applications with higher performance and reduced latency. In November 2016, Vapor IO launched Vapor Edge, the world’s most cost-effective end-to-end platform for edge computing. Vapor Edge helps cloud operators, telcos, real estate holding companies and other innovative enterprises build and operate a next generation edge cloud to support low latency applications, such as IoT, autonomous driving and virtual reality. By helping these companies place cloud capabilities at the edge of the network, Vapor Edge substantially speeds up interactions, removing latency and reducing network and compute load back to centralized data centers. Vapor Edge is available today for customers planning deployments in 2017.
